I sometimes struggle to understand the complexity of biodiversity issues so I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this link http://www.pdfgeni.com/book/Ecosystem-services-pdf.html to a whole range of very interesting and insightful papers.

<pageFirstCreationDate>Thu, 20 May 2010 10:52:14 GMT</pageFirstCreationDate><pageLastModified>Thu, 20 May 2010 10:54:34 GMT</pageLastModified>

5 May

The International Day of Biodiversity is just around the corner on 21 May. Nationally and internationally discussions are focusing on the continued loss of biodiversity despite clear national and international targets. It is quite clear that the target originally set in 2010 is not going to be met.

<pageFirstCreationDate>Fri, 30 Apr 2010 13:45:47 GMT</pageFirstCreationDate><pageLastModified>Wed, 05 May 2010 12:26:09 GMT</pageLastModified>

Day 13

The Society for the Environment is deeply disappointed with the lack of results of the Copenhagen Climate Conference. The positioning game has started in Copenhagen. Proposals, counter proposals, pledges and conditional pledges together with accusations of opening already agreed elements are flying around in the formal meetings that take place in parallel in the conference centre.

The most common feelings, I believe, are a level of confusion and a search for a sense of direction from the delegates at the Conference. Strong and understandably emotional pleas from small island states

<pageFirstCreationDate>Wed, 09 Dec 2009 22:43:37 GMT</pageFirstCreationDate><pageLastModified>Sat, 12 Dec 2009 18:50:33 GMT</pageLastModified>

Day 2

It is Day 2 of the climate summit and the most striking things are the diversity of the nearly 15,000 participants and the complexity of the issues and the negotiations.

<pageFirstCreationDate>Wed, 09 Dec 2009 22:54:00 GMT</pageFirstCreationDate><pageLastModified>Sat, 12 Dec 2009 18:50:07 GMT</pageLastModified>
