Greening the Economy/Green Jobs

John Carstensen, SocEnv CEO, has been invited to speak at this exciting conference from the developers of Green Economics, which is sponsored by biodiversity specialists in the Galapagos, Galextur and also by the Green European Foundation in Luxemburg.

 

Green Economics works to reclaim and reform economics into a progressive, discipline for provisioning to meet the needs of all people on the planet, especially women, other species, nature, the planet and its systems and it deals with the complex mesh of achieving social and environmental justice together.

We aim to halt runaway climate change, to end the current mass extinction of species, to end women's poverty and unequal pay and to reform economics and to prevent poverty.

 

This year’s conference has 14 major themes- and includes a focus on Green Jobs, Green Labour Markets, and developing the Green Knowledge Economy and the Green Built Environment as well as the Hi tech platforms on which the Institute is based. There is an emphasis on helping this generation of young people, the lost generation as well as the next generations. It also features the inventor of the carbon market, members of the Kyoto Process, and also members of the IPCC as well as members of parliaments around the world and the United Nations Green Economy Initiative and the Green Jobs Initiative.

 

The conference features speakers from our work in Africa, South Africa, Ethiopia, Nigeria, China, India and South America amongst many others.  It presents the achievements of 10 years of Green Economics, also celebrates, prize nominations for the launch of our first book in our book series, and also celebrates the millionth visitor to our website, and our much expanding internship programme, now with 109 students enrolled from as many different nations. There will also be carbon footprint reduction participation project for all conference attendees.
