Great Start to the Year for CEnv

Chartered Environmentalist Logo

A high number of new Chartered Environmentalists have been registered in the first 6 weeks of 2012 through the full PRI process, with a staggering 76 new CEnvs being registered through 8 of SocEnv’s licensed bodies: CIOB, CIWEM, CIWM, EI, ICF, IEEM, IEMA, and IWater .

This is excellent news for sustainability with Chartered Environmentalist professionals working across multiple sectors to embed sustainability principles and best practice into their particular field; including building, sustainable development, water, energy and wastes management, ecology, environmental management and assessment and forestry.

The society was also delighted that despite 2011 being a tough year for the environment sector, the steady rise in the number of Chartered Environmentalists continued with a total of 472 new CEnv registrants during the year.

SocEnv would like to congratulate all our member bodies who recruited new CEnvs last year, and sincerely thank the staff and dedicated volunteers who work to promote the qualification within these organisations.

Well done to CIWEM, who once again signed up the highest number of CEnvs through the standard route.   A special mention also for licensed bodies, IES and IEEM, who enjoyed a surge in CEnv numbers after a recruitment drive.  IWater, also managed to register over four times as many CEnvs in 2011 than in 2010.  >> Return to main news
