CEnv founded company Microbial Solutions Ltd have achieved the EDIE Award for Environmental Excellence for innovation in the field of water and waste water. The award recognised the company's microcycle technology, designed for biological detoxification and cleanup of heavily polluted and toxic waste metal working fluids.
The technology decontaminates and detoxifies waste effluents using 85% less energy and 95% less water than existing methods water consumption by up to 95%, and also allows for water reuse and recycling.
Professor Will Pope, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Microbial Solutions was one of the first environmentalists to achieve Chartered Environmentalist status back in 2004. “Chartered Environmentalist status has proved invaluable to me in my career in adding credibility to my role” said professor Pope, “I would encourage all environmentally minded entrepreneurs to attain this transferable high level qualification. As government, business and the public sector face increasingly difficult environmental challenges, CEnvs are becoming the key players in driving innovative solutions.”
